Introduction to ceramics (3,5 h)
Would you like to try ceramics for the first time or refresh your skills before attending the open studio?
At Liekki Art House Introduction to Ceramics course, you will learn the basics of clay, the ceramic process and hand-building techniques such as coiling, pinching and beginner-friendly slab-building.
This one-evening 3,5 hour course is an easy, commitment free way to try the art of ceramics, have fun and enjoy creating with clay at our inspiring studio. Envision the ceramic piece of your dreams - we will help with making it! Once the piece is built, you can decorate it e.g. using engobes or choose a glaze. The instructor will teach some decoration techniques.
The course is suitable for anyone interested in making ceramics, no previous experience in ceramics is necessary - in our supportive and friendly guidance it is relaxed to come and learn new things or refresh your skills after a break. The course fee includes guidance, materials, coffee/tea, firings and glazing made by the instructor. You can pick up the pieces approximately 3-4 weeks after the course.
